Edward Rivera, a noted Sacramento painter and leader in the Chicano art movement who was a police officer for almost 30 years, died Oct. 31 of liver disease, his family said. He was 68.
Edward Rivera is shown with his mural on Lassen Hall at CSUS in 1998 before doing some touch-up work. The mural was mistakenly torn down in 1976; he re-created it and it was rededicated in 1978.
