Three and a half months after Hassan Alawsi was shot to death in a Home Depot parking lot off Florin Road, his dream of sharing his art with the world came true at the state Capitol on Wednesday.

Pan and members of the Sacramento art community hosted a reception to unveil the artwork of Alawsi, who was gunned down in March in the parking lot of a Home Depot off Florin Road. Alawsi was a refugee from Iraq who had studied art history at the University of Baghdad.
