Warren Strong was weeding in the backyard of his deceased mother's home in Fair Oaks this month when he found a small, brightly colored torso poking out of the ground. A few feet away, he found the head.
Warren Strong holds a sculpture of a dog, one of many of his mother's clay artworks found buried in her yard after she died July 18. Barbara Strong, who was an accomplished artist in several media, taught art at Bella Vista High School and exhibited her work in area galleries.
Her sculpture of a cat.
This sculpture by Barbara Strong, found in her yard, is cleaned up by her son Warren. No one is sure why the artist buried her works.
This Barbara Strong work, "Kings Fan," is among the works displayed in her home. It was exhibited at the Doiron Gallery in 2005.
